StranchGerardPhoto.jpg Mr. Stranch has been employed by the firm in some capacity off and on since he was in the 5th grade before joining the firm as a full time associate in 2003. He practices complex litigation including shareholder derivative actions, securities, class actions, anti-trusts, ERISA 401k litigation and general labor and employment law.

At the age of 15, Mr. Stranch won the prestigious Congress-Bundestag Scholarship, which provides a full year of study in Germany. Mr. Stranch maintains his fluency in German and has used it in the prosecution of cases. While enrolled at Oxford College at Emory University and at Emory University, Mr. Stranch played rugby for both schools’ teams and was the captain and/or organizer during 2 of those years. During this time, Mr. Stranch also played with the Atlanta Renegades and during law school played with Nashville’s Rugby Club.

After graduation from Emory University in 2000, Mr. Stranch worked his way through Vanderbilt law school as a law clerk for the firm. In addition to working for the firm, Mr. Stranch interned at the Juvenile Public Defender’s office in Nashville and was employed in a clinic class enforcing the Bryan A. settlement at Tennessee Preparatory School. He is married to the former Ms. Patty Audrea Daniel who is the founding partner of The Law Offices of Patty Daniel Stranch. They have a son together, Daniel Augustus “Gus” Stranch. Mr. Stranch has served as lead counsel for the firm in numerous cases including In re: Alpha Corp. Securities Litigation ($161 million settlement value), Lankford v. Dow Chemical ($4.2 million settlement) and numerous other cases.

Mr. Stranch enjoys spending time with his wife Patty, their son Gus, and two bassett hounds, Flash and Bell.
