She concentrates her practice in the broad arena of Labor and Employment, having represented Labor organizations and individuals for over 25 years. She specializes in ERISA work, representing a number of Plans, and has a nationwide complex litigation ERISA practice representing classes of Plan Participants in 401(k)/ESOP litigation seeking to recover pension losses resulting from corporate and/or fiduciary inproprieties. Ms. Stranch has also engaged in personal injury and wrongful death litigation and has a specialty in utility law. She often speaks or teaches at conventions and educational seminars.  Ms. Stranch has been nominated by President Obama to server on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and awaits confirmation.

Ms. Stranch continues her firm's tradition of commitment to community leadership and service. She served as the first Board Chair of the Bellevue YMCA and has led capital campaigns for the YMCA and St. Luke's Community House. She served for over a decade on PTA Executive Boards for Metro Nashville Public Schools and on the Citizens Search Advisory Committee for the selection of a Director of Schools. She has accepted many leadership roles in her church, including serving as Vice-Chancellor for the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee and as President of her church women's group. Ms. Stranch has remained active in higher education, having served on the Vanderbilt University School of Law National Alumni Board.

Ms. Stranch was in the second class of women admitted to the University of Virginia. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Vanderbilt University, 1975, and received her J.D. degree from Vanderbilt School of Law in 1978, Order of the Coif. She has taught labor law at Belmont University and has served on the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee. She is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee and American Bar Associations, the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Foundation and the Law Association for Women (L.A.W.). Ms. Stranch is married to an attorney, James G. Stranch III, and they have four children, one of whom practices law with them.
