NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 11, 2010 – J. Gerard Stranch, IV of Nashville law firm Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings has been named to the Rising Star list for Class Action/Mass Tort Litigation by Tennessee Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top up-and-coming attorneys in Tennessee for 2010. Only 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are named Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
Stranch joined Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings as a full time associate in 2003, and became member of the firm in 2008. He practices complex litigation including shareholder derivative actions, securities, class actions, anti-trusts, ERISA 401K litigation and general labor and employment law. A graduate of Emory University and Vanderbilt School of Law, Stranch has served as lead counsel for the firm in many cases including In re Alpha Corp. Securities Litigation ($161 million settlement value), Lankford v. Dow Chemical ($4.2 million settlement) and numerous others. Stranch also serves as general counsel for the Tennessee Democratic Party.
