JANE BRANSTETTER STRANCH ELECTED FELLOW
OF TENNESSEE BAR FOUNDATION
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 19 – Jane Branstetter Stranch of Nashville law firm Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings, PLLC was recently elected to be a fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.
The Bar Foundation, an association of 710 attorneys across the state, honors attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the profession by electing them to membership as fellows. Stranch was one of 35 attorneys invited to be a fellow this year. The introduction of new fellows took place at the annual fellows’ dinner in Nashville on Jan. 15.
Stranch concentrates her practice in the broad arena of labor and employment, and has represented labor organizations and individuals for more than 25 years. She specializes in ERISA work, representing a number of plans, and has a nationwide complex litigation ERISA practice. Stranch was nominated in August 2009 by President Barack Obama to serve on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and awaits confirmation.
A graduate of Vanderbilt University and of Vanderbilt School of Law, Stranch has taught labor law at Belmont University and is actively involved in community leadership and public service opportunities.
The Bar Foundation administers a grant making program called Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA), which has awarded grants in excess of $16,000,000 to law-related, public interest projects throughout Tennessee. Bar Foundation fellows work to support IOLTA projects.
